engine rebuild head tolerances?

how anal should I be about my head and block surface when
installing a new headgasket? Nothing is warped but I have
seemed to incur a few slight surface scratches on my head
around the combustion chambers. I can barely see or feel
them with my fingernail, but then again I can see them and
do feel them, is this cause for alarm that I should go get
the head resurfaced/flycut, or will the soft metal of the
oem headgasket full up those slight scratches, like I'm
thinking it will?
