Each type of joint has its applications. There are many, many design =
issues that must be considered when deciding how to fasten two pieces of =
metal togther.
It's not that one type is stronger than the other; a properly designed =
bolted joint will be 'strong enough to do the job', as will a properly =
designed and executed welded joint.
