coupla questions
Could be, but the wheel bearing felt very solid when doing the 'push on the wheel' test.

Sounds like the bearing may be letting the hub walk a little on that one side?
Yes, you should have a centering ring (some call them "hub-centric" rings). If you do not, go to the nearest tire/wheel shop and they can get them for you. They can make a huge difference in smooth running at speed.

Yep, stock 9.4s. I took the rim off, its the inner part of the outer piece of metal of the caliper. In other words, its the part closest to the hub and closest to you. It's creating a groove not where the spokes are, but more toward the center. It's only the driver's side that's doing it, the passenger side only has a very light groove. Also, a related question. The center hole of the rim is bigger than the hub size. Am I supposed to have some kind of ring to fill the difference? Just the 4 bolts keeping the rim in place doesn't seem good. Almost had the rim fall off the car as I loosened the bolts before jacking it up and the wheel started to shift a bit (I guess I loosened them a lot...)
