The cut a coat hanger and and bend the hanger to fit the holes, insert and that releases the radio on the scirocco's.

I was reading somewhere (could have been the Bentley), that it is necessary to use a specific tool to remove the factory Blaupunkt (sp?). Is this a fact? Are there ways around it? I don't want to have to buy some special tool just so I can put in my new stereo. Also, I'd rather not destroy the original in the process.
