Back-up switch

First off, my condolences to the families of those involved in today's tragedy. I did not know those involved, but I wish it hadn't happened. And, not knowing what else to say or if anything that I did say would help, I'll say no more on the subject. My prayers go out to Jay and Steve and their families and friends.
Second, and I feel weird putting this out there today, given today's loss, but my damn back-up lights still don't work. I replaced the back-up switch and they still don't work. I do feel proud of myself in the sense that I got it in and replaced everything that I moved to get to it and the car still runs. Not bad for my first foray under the hood. Especially since I moved the batt., airbox/CIS, and coolant resevior. Any other reasons for no back-up lights/up-shift light? Also, after putting everything back, the coolant temp was running VERY high while sitting, but backed down when up to speed. Bubble in the system? It seems better now, but further driving is required to see if it's still a problem.
I look forward to your input. And again, my heart is with those involved as well as the community in general. And as one person stated on the vortex, at least they were doing something they loved when it happened.
Drive safely,
Mike
