Stalling after shifting, when slowing to idle in gear

i've had a look around for the obvious vacuum leaks and found none, plus
i'm running full poly throughout the car, so i have zero engine movement
anyways. i have recently (3 months ago) replaced the fuel filter.
tomorrow i will try raising the idle a bit ( i have no tach.....d'oh)
also, the car had been sitting (on a hoist inside the shop) for about
2.5 months just before all of this started, it was suggested that i
might have some water in the tank, and i havent gone through a full tank
of gas yet since it's been on the road. any thoughts on that one?
i'm also gonna get under the hood and search for other vacuum leaks.
what is the best approach for this? Ive never tackled vacuum lines before.
