For the screw, maybe an impact screwdriver? They're about $20, Sears or
Napa has them that I've seen quickly. You just hit it with a hammer and
usually it will take screws out like that. The hammer blow forces the
bit into the face as it turns it. Worth its weight in gold for things
like getting the front brake rotor screws out..
Not sure what you mean by inverted for the drain plug socket, but it's
an allen head. About $17 for a 17mm allen wrench, or if you're in a
pinch you can use a lugnut...
