Yes there is.
Find an empty wide open parking lot. Wet the surface liberally with water.
Drive straight at about 25mph in second gear, then turn sharply right or
left, like a 90 deg turn, while doing so nail the throttle. Car keeps going
straight = no quaife. Car pulls hard through the turn, while you hit your
head on the driver's door, or slip out of your seat into the passenger
seat,( depending on the direction of the turn) = quaife!
Simple test. Let me know when you try it. I'd like to watch.

While I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one, the rebuilt 2Y in my mk1 grabs
better than any VW tranny I've ever driven. If, by chance, it does have a Q,
I'm definitely want to yank it before I sell it. So, I just want to make
sure....
IIRC, it was just simply putting the front end in the air and putting it
into gear - the wheels should spin a certain way, right?
Thanks in advance, JT _______________________________________________
