Larry, who needs lots of torque in a 1700lb car built for track duty? I
think the combined twist on the Green Hell was about 75ft/lbs. That's
probably on par with a stock Mk1 Scirocco, so "satisfactory motivation" is
but a relative matter. And, with that feather weight and nutty hp on tap?..

motorcycle engine (even two) will not have sufficient torque to
satisfactorily motivate an automobile.
  It's been tried and the results were commercial failures.
