(Very Long Rant)Worst Day Ever - Help me identify what happened to my car

Well, whatever. Basic point remains, sounds like a fuel pump issue. Exactly what my VW's have always done when a fuel pump goes.

Josh, no transfer pump on a 82...one main pump, thats it.

Now, to the problem. Sounds like it could be a miriad of things...time to break out the bentley and do some tests. First, try jumpering the fuel pump relay....does it run ok then?

One thing at a time here, it could be tons of different issues.
