importing a scirocco?

I had to bring my car in from Canada last year. Here is what I had to do. I=
 had to get a letter from VW stating that the car I wanted to import was le=
gal for the U.S. Volkswagen wouldn't do this for me, for unknown reasons to=
 me. So customs said if the car had a US emissions sticker on it, then they=
 could let the car in. Since the car did not have this emissions sticker, I=
 had to *create* one. (Shhhhh) :) Photoshop is a wonderful thing.

The car had to have a speedo that read in mph. They did not care about the =
european headlights, and Im sure if it had eurobumpers they wouldnt have no=
ticed that either, but shipping from Germany maybe be different. And then i=
t cost me $500 for all the paperwork and taxes.
