UpShift light acting funny

lets open the book of Bentley,Electrical system, 13-17
The upshift indicator system on 1985 throught 1987 cars with manual
transmissions indicates the potimum upshift points for maximum fuel
efficiency...
And there is even a trouble shooting guide on Table H.
