Hey! Nice to see another 19 year old on the list, I'm also on my second VW ('83 Scirocco, first was an '84 Scirocco) and have two VW parts cars(both roccos)!! Anyway:
1.)Don't know about 1.7's, best thing to do is get rid of it ASAP(the engine).
2.)The part # for my Audi 5k TB is B6 335 034 AT 832 1. Close to your #, the Audi TBs vary a bit. They are noticeably bigger(from the outside) than normal VW ones, so just compare it with one from one of your parts cars. Sounds like you do have one though.
3.)What symptoms make you think the #1 injector is dirty? You could use additives. Another way I've used(not sure how effective, but it looks pretty effective) is to remove the injector and get a can of Brake Parts Cleaner(must be new with lots of pressure), insert the tube into the injector(fits perfectly!) and spray. It will come out of the other side and theoretically clean the injector. If I were you I'd take an injector from one of your parts cars, clean it, and put that in there. Also replace your fuel injector seals! That is very likely you're problem.

I'm on my second VW and my first rocco, It's an 82' 1.7 (no emissions for me muahahaha). I got it in sept. My first car was an 86' Golf 8v exhaust ran straight to a single deisel muffler (make one of my favorite exhaust sounds). My rocco is mostly stock, but I have done little things so far, 8mm taylor plug wires, 2" custom stainless exhaust. I'm planning on a JH transplant in the summer, but it'll be my first time swapping an engine....so it'll be interesting to see what happens. I've spent a CRAPload of time undoing a lot of butchering this car has suffered through. I don't think I'll get into that now, but it deserves a moment of silence.................I also have an 84' 1.8 8v rocco for parts (a deer hit it), and an 84' 8v GLI (damn van didn't know red meant stop) also for parts. anyways, I had a few questions1) I noticed the other day that my car has a 1.6 head....I was told that 1.6 and 1.7's use the same head...??? anyone know? 2) i have a tb for it, I'm told it's an audi tb, my copy of etka is vw only and I was wondering if anybody could check the part # for me B6 120 034 AB 833 I dunno if that's all that's needed, it also had DVG and 85B in other spots on it 3) I'm told I'm running lean/too hot in cylinder #1 possibly a dirty injector....what are the different ways to clean them? only with additives? if so, any recomendations? Anybody from this list live in the area?? I think that's all for now, thanx for listening L8er George
