[help! need glass in new orleans!]

You are right, the scratching is an issue. (and you don't have to look =
through paint.....) There are options, tho;
polycarbonate sheet is available with a special, hard surfacr treatment. =
Unfortunately, it is QUITE expensive, probably more expensive than =
replacement glass....so it's value would be as a weight/coolness issue.

on a (slightly) happier note, i made it safely back from louisiana =

stereo and other goodies intact. i didn't get glass, but went to a =

store, bought some plexiglass and a cutter, and 30 min/$20 later =
instant=20
window. worked very nice, barely wind noise at 85 mph, and that was =
due to a=20
slight mis-cut. got me thinking, plexiglass=3Dlight=3Dcheap=3Deasy to =
cut. why not=20
replace glass with this stuff? only things i can think of are: =
scratching=20
(no more than paint though, right?) and safety (i'm thinking these can =
shatter into knife-like pieces).
