16v ownesr help me out

I am not a 16v guy but on the A2 I took apart I found some kind of third
wire heading to the starter. For the life of me I cant remember wtf it's
for.

Wait, wait, wait- A look in the Haynes (only have half a Bentley) shows
the following:

1. Positive Battery Cable Terminal (This is the Big One going to the
Battery)
2. Terminal 15a for wire to Ign Coil Term 15 (I think THIS is your third
wire*)
3. Terminal 50 for Start Wire from Ign Switch (Standard Solenoid Engage)
4. Field Coil connecting strap terminal (

#s 2 & 3 are spade type connectors. 2 to the Front, 3 to the Rear.
#4 is the strap between the Solenoid & the Starter proper.


* Meant to add extra coil power during Starting.
