Water pump....questions

Julie, first of all how do you figure that the weight would be "doubled"?
Secondly, why would there be any increased frictional losses? In this case
the belt to the water pump is eliminated. Third, the electric water pump
runs directly off the alternator; there's no additional generator added.
Assuming that the electric water pump and the stock version are equally
efficient and have the same frictional losses, the engine output gains from
the electric version come from the ability to do less work when needed. You
