soon to be not a rocc owner (long)

I've never bought a car from a dealer, so I wouldn't know. Since the car is in New Mexico, I can just go to their DMV and then would I put my NY plates on the car? Or do I get temp New Mexico ones? And, since my license is a NY one, when I get it back to CO, should I register it with CO or can I register it with NY? Does it really matter?

You go to the local DMV and get a temp reg sticker for the window.
Just like you drove it off a car lot.
