Drilling the airbox is pretty easy. You take a drill and turn the thing into
swiss cheese. Aside from maintaining enough structure so that the thing
doesn't fall apart on you, there's really no technique to consider.
Generally, what you end up with, however, is a nice growly intake sound and
LESS power than what you started out with. :^(
The bottom line is that you'll lose about 1hp for every 10degF increase in
intake air temperature. Now, consider how much hotter it is under your hood
relative to the ambient air temperature. If you're looking to increase your
performance, I'd forgo this modification for something else.
