I just purchased Bilstein HDs, Neuspeed sports springs, a 28mm Neuspeed
rear sway bar, rear poly shock mounts, and strut bearings all brand new
for $600 and change. Woohoo! $600 worth of suspension for my $600 car!
Just thought I'd share my joy. I've seriously been considering a 2.0 16v
swap...I think I have enough spare engines and parts in the garage to do
it. Scary.
Also, I found out via a Volkswagen coffee-table book that it is a
"Limited-Edition" scirocco because it was originally all black with a
5-speed (FO code trans). It has red trim on along the sides of the
body, but not the red trim around the grille. The seats are two tone
grey and black, they look like "S" seats. According to the picture in
the book, these "Limited-Edition" sciroccos had an air dam, which this
car also has. Unfortunately it's all but destroyed.=20
