The Jetta roofs just go back, no tilt, but I can't imagine they'd interch=

hardware. (or if it's even possible) I'm guessing it may need a few "subt=
le
hints" to tilt (pound on it gently upwards while opening). Pushing in the=

button and reversing the direction you turn the crank handle  should do i=
t.
The slide function seems to die before the tilt feature, and if it has th=
e
stock mechanism, you'll need to tilt it to repair it anyway. Could be
something got left detached in a previous repair effort.
