VW Special Tool for Stock Hose clamps...

The one I used had a clicking-type-locking-thingy that would lock the
clamp open so you didn't have to use both hands to maneuver it into
place.  Without that option I don't see it being any easier to do than
with a normal pair of channel-locks...
