Rear calipers

my e-brake died and i was wondering which are the best calipers to replace
them with?

stock have the external e-brake mechanism that has lasted 17 years.

i was told the e-brakes were failing on mk4 after 1-2 years.

i dont know about the mk2 or mk3 but i was told they all fit just the later
calipers need to be off the cerrier to be bled and the mk4 rear need mk4
brake lines.

all the prices end up being the same.

so what do i get?
