2 Questions!!

1) I want to shave the door handles on my 79 Scirocco before I paint it 
and would like to know if anyone has done this, and if so what remote 
release system did you use on the doors?  Has it been reliable?

2) all of you MK1 16V conversion guys or gals which fuse block did you 
use to wire your system the old or the new?  I am using all of the old 
dash and gauges so I need to know what eill work better.
