tranny splines ?

I don't think so, John.  When you order a hub, all A1 hubs are the same.
The knuckly assy or the hub carrier can be different but the hubs are the
same.  I guess there could be some differences (slight) between
manufacturers but not any that would make the Scirocco hub/axle assy
specific to Sciroccos.  AFAIK.
