Rpm at 70mph

My car turns 4000rpm going 70mph. I think this is higher than normal as my bros 16v gti turns closer to 3000 at 70. This is with stock tire size of 185 60 14 and agb tranny.
So how many rpms your 16V turn at 70mph?
Trying to see if my 5th gear has been swapped or why my car turns so many rpm.
