Clutch cable replacement
I second Ron.
You can replace a cable anytime with the same effort.
If it's not in bad shape anyway (which it doesn't sound like it is...) leave it.

I second Jeff. Since you're doing a new clutch, it's all work that you'd have to do anyway (easy by the way), so why not?
