Fuel Tank solutions?

on an 81....

what's the best way to go about fixing a problem of
a rusty fuel tank? Do those swish kits from jc whitney
actually do the trick of cleaning and sealing the tank?
is it worth it to install a fuel cell for the money over
installing a new oem tank? My fuel pipe to the tank is nasty
and the entire inside tank seems to be lined with surface
rust. I just killed one pump and filter, need to get a fix
in there and was hoping someone here had experience with
restoring or installing a viable replacement. thanks
