mechanic has stolen my 'rocco(really long rant)

Sorry to hear all your bad luck. I have learned one thing so far with ALL
makes and models of cars. A car is the worst investment you will ever make
in your life! Fun, entertaining, and maybe ever necesary for most but still
a poor investment. Last point is just a suggestion, if you want to get two
cars and have one as a "project" get another cheap 8v that you can work on
yourself and is MUCH cheaper in parts and mods. I have 2 cars,a Jeep high
modified for offroad, and two motorcycles. I have spent more money on my 16v
in mantainace then I have on all my other vehicles combined (by .45 cent).
When I had my 8v i paid 500USD for it and drove it for two years for
inspections of 100$ each year one year for tires and one for exhaust. It was
not the most beautyfull thing on earth but it got me from point a-b. Now
with a 16v daily driver I do nothing but fix it and my 16V project has been
sitting still for awhile now. Just some advice but I would look to another
8v if you must purchase again and chase that dream car project alot more
than the car you have to have to get to school/work. Hope you get your car
back though. Trade it for a nice worked over 8v and you will have a whole
lot less maintainace!
