Thats factory A/C.

Ron, you will find that you might just want to leave the evap and heater box alone.  2 Problems with factory A/C on a mk1 when you want to TOTALLY remove it:  One, there is an extra hole in the rain tray for the recirculation flap.  Second, the main hole for the blower is much larger than non-A/C mk1s....so you get to have fun fabbing a bracket if you try and bolt the non-A/C heater box in.

Just a warning, been-there-done-that type of thing.
