020 transmission

Basically I have an overgeared overspaced 4+E transmission in my GT and I
can't stand it. Looking at the Haynes manual and the various information on
the Internet it seems that I have a FN/FH/FJ 020, and I am looking for a
close ratio 5 speed. Would I only find these in UK fuel injected cars? Will
I need the 210mm clutch and flywheel? I have 100mm driveshaft flanges
already. Apart from golf/jetta are these found in other scrapyard VWs?

Can I use the transmission from a 1600 MG Montego/Maestro?
