There may well be some logic to this.  A1 chassis (inc. roofless ones
and trucks) are becoming more and more rare, they are, like us more
likely to have been daily drivers with wear and teat OR resto projects
with a repaint etc.  

Contrasting this is the A3 &A4 crowd who may well be still in
warranty, let alone without any paint wear to talk of and just a bunch
of bolt ons like LCD screens, etc.

Add to the decision on whether to attend is a choice to show but not b
e judged, this means you get in, great parking in the middle of
things, and you have less pressure to chrome and polish your control
arms.  ;])
