I agree with most of what you said. I think a collective letter with everyone's electronic signiture would be a great idea. Not just cuz it looks cool and all, but because there's a good chance it will get scirocco.org some recognition and get some more sciroccos in the mag. When the mag sees a ton of names, they see that as a ton of mag buyers if they have that model car featured. I see tons of older golfs in the mag, in fact April's issues looks dedicated to them from the cover. I disagree with the apology part. If someone thinks a golf is ugly, that's their opinion. I definitely think asking for a broader range of VWs to be printed is a good idea and for us not to send mean letters. Nobody likes a bitchfest. Just my $0.02.

However I propose something.

I think we should colectively make a single responce. I think it should
aslo be one that does speak for the collective in a mannor that doesn't make
us look like a bunch of whinning ass's or spoiled teenagers. It should be
well worded and contain no vulgariy or slamming of any kind. We can roast
the jackass all day long here on the list and most noone would be any the
wiser. After all, since we are the largest, if not close to the largest
collective group of Scirocco owners, why would we want to come off like a
bunch of morons?

Maybe the letter can include a small (white lie) applogy that a fellow
scirocco owner/admirer called the US golfs ugly. But it should also state
that seeing more rocco's in "any" VW publication that showcases water cooled
VW's wouldn't be something we are against. I think no matter what kind of
VW you own, when you see the same kind of modle you have in a mag you kinda
get that feeling of pride as if it were your own car on the pages, even more
so if its someones car that you know. I think we should even push for the
publishing of any A1's since they all get left out in the cold for the most
part.

With all the talk recently about trying to get rocco's/Cincy in the mag's,
the last thing we want to do is alienate any of the mag's or their readers.
An you know that if they get 50 nasty-grams they will definitly publish that
so that we get hung out to dry.

Now, before anyone sets their sights on my ass, this is just my opinion, no
one has to listen to me.

/me kindly gets off the soap box and returns to regularly scheduled bitching
elsewhere.

William
