Damn stealerships!!
Sorry, I beg to differ.
A body shop across the street did sell a mint '79 green Scirocco, with an
automatic transmission, for 8000$ canadians last year. Nice Sciroccos around
town (Montréal) do sell for between 5000$-8000$ depending upon condition.
And I am sure that prices will go up slowly, as they are getting rarer, and
thus more sought after by some people.
Of course every dealership/used car lots tend to sell higher than
independant sellers, still, nice Sciroccos will keep their values.
Look how much a nice '57 Chevy sells for these days, keeping in mind that
they made millions of these cars.
I don't think that owning Sciroccos are the key to financial success, but
overall, I am sure they do cost less to own than what you might think.
Cheers.

Objet : Damn stealerships!!
I just talked to my friend, he mentioned a dealership in town that is
selling an 85 scirocco GTI. It is in mint condition with 330,000km on it.
Very nice very clean. Used to be the Owners/founders car before he passed
away, now they are selling it. Their asking price is $7000 Canadian. These
guys are known for over pricing cars. There is a sweet GTI on the lot for
$14,500. I just hate dealerships!!!!
