16v model year differences [GEARING]
I reread my note and realized i got off my point i was trying to make. For my car
going past 6 k/rpm is pointless (well maybe in 1-2 gears), so i pretty much hit the
practical redline. The engineers at ARP calculated my con rod bolts able to
withstand 14.5 k/rpm, which of course it would never even get close to w/no load at
all. With the old 8V GTI head the VE is not so great, plus cam timing makes a fair
bit of difference, and i set mine for good torque.
