When we were driving it back to my place I did a run upto a little over 100.
It went there so quick and easy although now I think it was probably around
110 because driving to work today I had it at 60 and everybody was going the
same speed as me. Normal driving speed here is about 70 so I think the car
is 5-10 mph off.
But now I will shut up seeing as this is a scirocco list and all...

Tell me about it. My E30 is fun as hell... and it tends to make you drive
quicker than you think. My E36 (now gone) could have easily gotten me in
trouble...
But I will have to say: My E39 528i is evil. It's not so much like
driving a car, but a finely tuned video game where the steering wheel
transmits everything you want to know, except for speed. And the computer
reduces the G-Forces and other "unwanted" sensations to about 1/10th of
their normal level.
Sometimes I think the E39s must fly off the assembly line at 80mph -- cause
it's difficult to drive them slower than that.

Welcome to the world of Bimmer! I know what you mean about the speed thing.
I've been cruising along the highway and looked at the speedo, and said,
holy $hit, I'd be doing 100+ mph and not notice, those cars are very solid
and quiet.

Invaluable information source...
I'm looking for a 87-88 944S to put in my stable at the moment (nothing like
RWD sporty cars) the bimmer's really for the wife and kid so I can't justify
tricking it out.... with a 944s, no tricks needed... damn the right foot's
getting itchy just thinking 'bout it!!!
