Rick,
I have pulled the glass and motor apart. Easy. I have also separated the =
plastic casing from the metal base. Trickier getting it back together =
than apart.
I can go into detail if anyone is interested.

Subject: Do Side View Mirrors come apart?
I just sourced a perfect condition, passenger side, electric =
controlled side view mirror to replace the non reflective one I have =
now. Only one minor challenge, it is red and my car is black. The =
front, or forward half of the mirror case is red, the rest of the outer =
case is black. It also looks like it only painted and that the case is =
actually back plastic underneath. Can this, forward half of the mirror =
case come off easily? If so, I would just take off the red paint with =
some chloride paint stripper to show the black plastic. =20
The final option would just be to paint it with some black =
SEM paint.
=20
Thanks, Rick Kellner.
