noisy oil pump(its new)

after filling with 20w-50 and spinning, the sound is either gone or covered up by the oil gurgling. seems like it may still be there, but I may be paranoid. anyone else ever gotten a new, oilless pump and spun the shaft? I'm 99.999% sure this pump is brand new-
