new car (1982 Rabbit to GTI conversion)

I just bought this VW two weeks ago.  It runs great when I drive it nicely
but as soon as I punch it it seems like its running on three cylinders.  The
guy I bought it off said that he advanced the timing onit so maybe that's
it.  Any ideas?  I think it's a jh 1.8.  Also it's missing the wires from
the full throttle switch in the throttle body.  Where should they lead to?
Mayeb I can wire it up..
