You guys are great, you actually know when the site goes down. :-)!!

I was out of town on a camping trip over the weekend, totally
out of communications or I would have had it back online much
more quickly, and it was up again hours after I got back on
Sunday.

As it is, and as some of you have noticed, I am having difficulties
with the site right now.

It is most likely a hardware problem, probably a bad ethernet card,
or a bad switch.  (Getting 20-50% TCP retransmission rate).  I
have replacements for both, but I am eliminating every other possible
cause first.  (flashed switch proms, rewired, moved cabling further
from UPS's, adjusted TCP stack settings, gathered TCP performance
metrics over time, adjusted kernal buffers and parameters, rewired
the enet to use a different transceiver, etc, etc).

I really need to know what's causing this, I'm working on it at a
steady pace, and I will solve the performance issues. It seems
to be alright at the moment, but performance seems to suffer over
time.  Thanks for being patient, we'll get through it like we always
do. :)

(btw, I have plenty of bandwidth for the site, a few extra machines,
and some spare parts, so there's no immediate tragedy looming. :-) )
