OT: Question for the Americans

Well, I wasn't going to get into this discussion, as previously mentioned it 
is about as constructive as a discussion on religion.
Having said that, I haven't read ALL the responses to the initial question 
concerning Iraq, BUT I haven't seen anyone who has brought up the real issue 
of our "War on Terror" and the current situation with Iraq - O I L!!!! If 
anyone thinks this entire campaign and deliberation about Iraq isn't fueled 
(pardon the pun) by Bush's close personal and financial ties with Unocal and 
the Texan oil barrons you are missing the REAL motivation here. 9/11 just 
made the pipeline construction through Afghanistan that much easier since GW 
and Cheney were in a bit of a bind in getting that project under way for 
their Unocal buddies. Why do you think the interim government in Afghanistan 
has consisted of past independant Unocal consultants????? Gee, that's an 
interesting coincidence?! Our occupation of Afghanistan is merely to guard 
our construction of that aforementioned pipeline. As far as Iraq, it's the 
same deal, as soon as Saddam gets too big for his britches and seems like he 
could pose a REAL threat to the importation of oil, we all of sudden want to 
head down there and blow him up. Yeah, right, if you believe anything that 
SOB says I've got an oil field in Texas I'd like to sell you...
