Shift Linkage adjustment...again...confused



on a '16v' type 5 spd tranny, the shifter needs to allow more movement to the
left to hit reverse. aligning the linkage on a mk1 might require the shifter to
sit tilted slightly to the right at the rest position. this would allow enough
movement to the left to get it into reverse. i've never done this myself, im
just picturing how the 5 spd tranny would have to work shifter-wise in a mk1.
