CV joint noise?

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'll change the inner CV tomorrow & see if
that cures it. Both joints on the other driveshaft are new, so I don't think
it's one of them.

I intended to change all the CVs while I had the engine out, but the right
inner was seized to the shaft, so I got a used driveshaft to get me out of a
hole. The inner was fairly stiff, but I don't remember it feeling much
different to a new one. The grease in it looked okay, unlike that in the
outer joint, which had the consistency of engine oil (smelled burnt too)...
