Lowering Compression?

Anyone know how the audi R8 can use 25 psi of boost on a 10.8:1
compression? I imagine their tuning is dead on, but do they have some
funky coatings on the pistons/valves/head or something?

1.8 can handle the stresses a bit better than a 2.0 can (in their
un-worked
forms). options for getting c/r down are forged pistons or head gasket
spacing.
other possibilities can come from funky head/block combos.
