Possible Victim of SMS?!?

So my car is pouring out gear oil, I take a look under the car and see it 
oozing out from what looks like between the tranny and engine, I can't really 
see anything from the top showing the leak. The fluid seems to have a 
silver/grayish look to it, I think this may be metal shavings or possible 
(though not likely, grease). Should I assume the worst? My poor 4k is shot? 
Or could there maybe be something else wrong? I have to wait until saturday 
before I can put it on a lift and take a good look at it, so I figured I 
would see what you guys say.
       Now the next question if it is shot, what is the possibility of me 
using the back half of the tranny casing from an FF tranny I have laying in 
my garage? And while in there I might as well swap in the 5th from the FF, 
chane to the bolt kit and check out my synchros. Please give me good news and 
tell me I can salvage my 4k, please oh please!!!
