crash
If it is in excellent shape and with low mileage or if it has any mods done
to it I would push for eht $4000 mark. Then when they mess with you you
have room to dicker. This recently was the case with myself. I got $1800
for a 77 Rabbit and I got the car back too! The way they figured the value
was to research the price on good running 77 Rabbits available for sale.
Since they are not that readily available, the value was higher. I also
spoke nicely and tactfully to the agent that came to look at my car,
explained the sentimental value of the car (was in the family since new!!)
and all the work that I have done to the car and he had compassion!! HTH!!
