Jeff-
The stock pistons will be the weakest link in this turbo-chain.
Anything over about 5psi boost will evenually lead to broken pistons =
unless detonation is totally controlled/eliminated. As far as the rest =
of the internals reliably handling 200 hp....depends on on your =
definition of reliable. 1000 miles with no failure? 100,000miles with =
no failure?
Quantify here, son, quantify....

Subject: durability of JH block internals and going turbo
I was curious what the general consensus is on the durability of stock =
JH internals (i.e., crank, rods, pistons, etc.)
=20
The reason I ask is that I have really no idea what rigors a JH block =
could withstand.=20
=20
Given a rebuild, knifing the crank and balancing the internals - could =
the stock components RELIABLY handle ~200 whp and the ~15psi of boost =
required to get there?
=20
I repeatedly see people going with new pistons, rods, etc., but I =
don't ever see anyone talk of the benefits (other than increasing bore) =
that those pistons are supposed to achieve...
=20
TIA, JT
