OT: rice speakers

Hey, I sell these things.

If you heard one, you'd probably be a little lighter about it.  They have a
really good driver in them, and put out astounding bass for their small
size.

Making it look like a NOS bottle is just a poorly thought-through marketing
strategy.  The Bazooka tubes (in plain black), are this same exact shape and
size.  You can get them as a 6" or 8", amplified or not, and in different
power levels.  The 150 Watt 8" reference tube is a really great product.
It's about $450 Canadian, And gives you an amp & sub that produce low, loud,
tight bass while taking up minimal space.  It's also super light, and has
only 1 plug and 2 straps to undo if you want to take it out.  They don't
perform very well in trunk cars, but in a small hatchback they really pump.
You need to pressure load them (fire them towards a corner) to really get
the low end out of them.

But yeah, the whole NOS thing is pretty lame.  If anything it's got a nice
finish that could be repainted black and could turn out really nice.
