Well - I think we all know that "turning a profit" does not apply to =
fixing up VWs! :)
OTOH - I could easily sell the new coilovers to some schmuck on Vortex =
and even maybe trade down from the OZ wheels.
The real key is whether to rebuild the PG or just get another and the =
$'s involved in each.
Storing it is not necessarily the problem (although I don't even know my =
new neighbors yet! :)
Please keep the advice coming - I was actually told to steer clear by =
another lister (who shall remain anonymous) but he wouldn't tell me =
why...
thx, JT

Can you build it up, keep it for a while and turn it for a profit? Go =
for it..

The Bad: The engine bay is in questionable condition. The head is =
removed and looks decent, but the crank and pistons have been removed =
(the one piston he showed me has some scoring on the sides (leaning =
out?). Couldn't actually get in to see the block (because it was =
obstructed by the intake et al. - but a PG long or short block shouldn't =
be that expensive, right?)
The Dilemma: He's asking $1800 and the guy is even willing to let =
me make payments with post-dated checks. He needs to get rid of it. But =
in steps the spouse and the house we're breaking ourselves just to pay =
for (well, not quite). And, I already have a project (the '84 cabby).
Geez - addictions are tough! It was easier quitting smoking for =
cryssakes! :)
Well, List? Help me out here...JT
