Lengthen antenna cable?

How do I effectivly lengthen the antenna cable for my radio.  I'm working on
a center console mod so that there basically is no center console but just a
place for the environmental controls, and then mount the radio inside the
glove box.  However, I don't think the antenna cable is long enough to get
there.  (this is on an 8 valve with front mounted antenna).  The internals
of the cable are kind of complicated to cut and resodder so I want to know
what you all would do?  Is there an extension that I could just buy at a
radio store or am I going to have to cut and get messy.
