MKI Quad Rounds on a MKII

I know a few of you have done this, and I have been wanting to change mine,m aside from the grill issue, I am having a hard time fitting the quad rounds (from an 80s) on my MKII (85), how did you deal with the lights being more forward than the other, seems to interfer with the hood, did you guys create a new brackets..??
some insight would be appreciated.
